Description Stefan Tittel 2006-08-31 10:26:24 UTC
The Gentoo Upgrading Guide wrongly specifies "2006.0" as the most recent profile for all architectures except "arm". Furthermore it lacks profile updating instructions for updating to 2006.1.

Let's see... this covers pretty much everything but mips, profile-wise.

It might be worth mentioning somewhere that the alpha/2006.1, amd64/2006.1, and x86/2006.1 profiles are very minimal, and the desktop sub-profiles are likely what people will want if upgrading from a pre-2006.1 profile on a desktop machine.

Adding mips and sh so they can provide the information for their architectures.

Very nice. I'll commit this ASAP. Thanks.

Patch committed & 2006.1 section started.

What else needs to happen in this doc? Looks really good from the patch that went in -- looks "complete" to me.

Un-CCing sh, since they've never appeared on the guide...because they have *only one profile*. Thank you and goodnight!

Went ahead and added sh to the guide anyway, since it is a supported arch with a supported profile. note: doesn't look like any changes need to be made to s390 or arm. just waiting on MIPS at this point, i think.

Done. 2006.1 MIPS profiles are all in place. All arches have been completed AFAIK, so the only thing holding us up is the dep on bug #147062.

The blocker was closed. I added the solution to fix the locale/unicode problem as described in bug 147062. Closing, thanks for all the hard work from everyone in here.
