Clean Gentoo 2006.1 install from GLI wrote the following to /etc/conf.d/net
 
routes_eth0="( "default via 192.200.0.6" )"
 
Everything said that the network was unreachable. After changing the entry to:
 
routes_eth0=( "default via 192.200.0.6" ) 
 
It works just fine. Apparently, the GLI added an extra set of parenteces.
