http://www.highpoint-tech.com/USA/rr2320.htm http://www.highpoint-tech.com/USA/bios_rr2320.htm currently I use this on my amd64 compiling from source, but am unfamiliar with the processes of creating/contributing ebuilds or the like. It'd be nice if someone could let me know the process and I can contribute, or if someone can add this in. They have an open source version of the driver near the bottom of the bios page. I'm not sure if the licencing conflicts with other gentoo licencing or not. be low is a snippet from the README in the opensource version of the driver THE DRIVER SOURCE CODE HIGHPOINT PROVIDED IS FREE OF CHARGE, AND THERE IS NO WARRANTY FOR THE PROGRAM. THERE ARE NO RESTRICTIONS ON THE USE OF THIS FREE SOURCE CODE. HIGHPOINT DOES NOT PROVIDE ANY TECHNICAL SUPPORT IF THE CODE HAS BEEN CHANGED FROM ORIGINAL SOURCE CODE. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY IN NO EVENT WILL HIGHPOINT BE LIABLE FOR DIRECT, INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THIS PRODUCT OR DOCUMENTATION, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. IN PARTICULAR, HIGHPOINT SHALL NOT HAVE LIABILITY FOR ANY HARDWARE, SOFTWARE, OR DATA STORED USED WITH THE PRODUCT, INCLUDING THE COSTS OF REPAIRING, REPLACING, OR RECOVERING SUCH HARDWARE, OR DATA.
Created attachment 103414 [details] gentoo-drivers-sources-2.6.18-r3.ebuild I used the http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Reiser4_With_Gentoo-Sources wiki to create an overlay that has the driver as a use flag. I didn't know all the portage commands so it could probably use a bit of work.
our kernel herd is busy with current stuff already, atm we can't handle more sources
