Description Patrice Beaud 2006-08-29 09:14:37 UTC
The connection can be established wether with or without WPA. But it's not reliable, i.e. the interface is going up for a few seconds and then down and up again... It's impossible to do any rsync, but web browsing, scp are possible, tough you must be very, very patient when transferring files.

/etc/conf.d/net:

modules=( "wpa_supplicant" )
wpa_supplicant_eth1="-dd -Dwext -ieth1"
associate_timeout_eth1=60
config_eth0=( "dhcp" )
config_eth1=( "dhcp" )

/etc/wpa_supplicant.conf:

ctrl_interface=/var/run/wpa_supplicant
ctrl_interface_group=wheel
eapol_version=1
ap_scan=1
fast_reauth=1
network={
        ssid="reseau"
        scan_ssid=1
        key_mgmt=WPA-EAP
        identity="identity"
        password="********"
        phase2="auth=MSCHAPV2"
        ca_cert="/etc/cert/cert.pem"
        ca_cert2="/etc/cert/cert.pem"
}
network={
        ssid="reseau2"
        key_mgmt=NONE
}

What version of wpa_supplicant?
Comment 2 Patrice Beaud 2006-09-03 22:08:39 UTC
(In reply to comment #1)

Sorry, I should have mentionned it in the first post. I tried with wpa_supplicant 0.4.9 and 0.5.4 and I did not see any visible difference between them.
Comment 3 Roy Marples (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-09-03 23:41:06 UTC
Well, the fact that it's not reliable isn't really a Gentoo problem as wpa_supplicant or the driver is thinking that the link to the AP has been lost.

You may be seeing this more with Gentoo as AFAIK we're the only distro that brings the interface configuration down when the link is lost.

I advise that you take your issue upstream.
