Description Ian Lewis 2003-01-25 15:31:50 UTC
I am using the gentoo linux 1.4rc2 athlon LiveCD. My install CD cannot be booted
using anything but the default keymap. When it gets to the step of copying the
root filesystem from the cd you get errors like:

cp: /home Input/Output Error
cp: /usr Input/Output Error
cp: /var Input/Output Error

Then the system complains that it cannot chroot properly and a kernel panic
ensues. I think this may be the same bug as ID #12910.

The keymap was not the problem. It seems it just worked the times i used the
default keymap by coincidence. Since sending in this bug report I have not been
able to boot the CD. I have no idea why it isn't working. This does not at the
moment seem like a bug in gentoo's install so effectively ignore this bug report.

Moving these so we can remove the "Install CD" component from "Gentoo Linux".

I apologize to everyone for this spam, but according to the bugzilla developers,
this is the only reasonable way to do this.
