Description Nguyen Thai Ngoc Duy (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-08-28 07:55:11 UTC
I dropped ~ia64 from camping-1.4.2. Please test it

Nguyen: Why did you drop ~ia64?
Comment 2 Nguyen Thai Ngoc Duy (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-10-14 18:28:18 UTC
Because I didn't have an ia64 to test it. Should I leave it there without testing it? (I'm honest, not offensive)

Yes. There are only two cases where you should drop existing keywords:

1. On a major version bump that is likely to cause problems
2. When new dependencies are added that are lacking necessary keywords (in this case you create a bug to inform the arches what happened)

Most of the time you should simply revert existing keywords to testing, like this:

$ cp camping-1.4.ebuild camping-1.4.2.ebuild
$ ekeyword ~all camping-1.4.2.ebuild

Thanks, it's all set now. :-)
