Fiddeling with some SVGs, I just encountered a strange bug in rsvg-convert. When converting the atached SVG to PDF, the dashed line is missing. The following changes all make things work again: 1. remove opacity specification 2. change opacity specification to "1" 3. add opacity specification to enclosing group 4. output to PNG instead of PDF I have not the slightest idea as to where this might come from, and I got strong suspicions that the bug is somewhere upstream. But I don't know where, if that would be Gnome, something specific to librsvg, or maybe cairo.

I suggest you try to look through Gnome's bugzilla as this may not be directly related to Gentoo. If you open a bug there or if you find one that matches, please put a link here. Thanks.

I created a new bug there, the URL is: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=352906 It's also the associated URL of this bug here now.

I'm using 2.20 here and it seems fixed now. I've read your instructions from the freedesktop bug and it works. If it's not working, please reopen with version informations.
