Description Jeff S 2006-08-24 12:39:17 UTC
Problems effect various versions of slapd versions 2.2.x and 2.3.x I have tried. They will compile and run correctly, but after make one request, the server becomes unresponsive. 'ps aux' shows that the slapd server is no longer running. Version 2.1.x does not behave this way.

Please indicate what sort of debugging info would be helpful. I will need to revert to a working config soon for production use and cannot maintain two versions in parallel.

Sorry for the delay for coming back to you, can you run it as foreground process to find out what causes this bug? you can do that by running slapd from the command line incorporating the config options from /etc/conf.d and adding "-u ldap -g ldap -d 3". It should produce a lot of output then and hopefully give an answer what goes wrong.

and if you have time problems due to production systems, you can run "quickpkg openldap" first to tar up your compiled version and if you want to reuse your prepared copy afterwards, run "emerge openldap-2.3.24-r3.tbz2"
