Description ta2002 2006-08-22 22:04:10 UTC
I didn't actually encounter this, but it looks pretty obvious from the ebuild /usr/portage/sys-apps/util-linux/util-linux-2.12r-r4.ebuild - the current stable version on amd64 (and if I can't understand the ebuild, I should give it up).

Without the old-crypt USE flag, the postinstall will print out the warning "This version of util-linux includes crypto support for loop-aes instead of the old cryptoapi."

It seems it will do that even if the user has neither the crypt nor old-crypt USE flags set (in which case util-linux would not have support for loop-aes).

I don't even know if the conf and init crypto files should get installed in that case (but that goes beyond what I can tell from reading the ebuild).

Only install conf and init files with crypt use flag

Thanks. It still looks correct to me not to install the conf and init files without the crypt use flag. Maybe something like this patch.

wonder if those init.d scripts are even still relevant
