hdspmixer is required for Hammerfall HDSP Audio cards, which are alsa-supported.

emerge -pv hdspmixer

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Which part? I don't see hdspmixer or hdspconf in alsa-tools.

Read the alsa-tools ebuild. USE=fltk emerge alsa-tools
