The ebuild is almost the same as for 8.27.10-r1, except for the name of the "*.run" file. 

Unfortunately I could not make xrandr work with 8.28.8 :( (nor could I get the on the fly display switching).

I found quite a few posts on google with identical problems:

Using GLX_SGIX_pbuffer
ERROR: version mismatch - 2D module [8.28.8] incompatible with OGL client module [8.27.10].
libGL error: InitDriver failed
X Error of failed request:  BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)
  Major opcode of failed request:  140 (GLX)
  Minor opcode of failed request:  5 (X_GLXMakeCurrent)
  Serial number of failed request:  41
  Current serial number in output stream:  41



No matter what I do, I get the mismatch with the OGL client module.
Is this a problem with the ebuild or the drivers?
