Thank you for your utility "eclean". But we want it could clean distfiles from packets did non fetch correctly or broken. Would you add this feature in eclean.
Sorry for my summary. Not eclean-pkg should have... , but eclean should have...
Err; how would you do this? You'd have to check checksums for all the stuff there (ouch that'd be slow like hell). Plus portage already deletes those on its own when the checksum doesn't match and tries to refetch. The only use would be for stuff w/ RESTRICT=fetch, and again you'd have to look at the checksums first. Suggest WONTFIX.
I am just finishing a modular re-write of eclean. First it assumes all distfiles dirty and cleanable, then depending cmd line options proceeds to remove from the list all the installed pkg sources and all the others it's told to keep via options and exclude file listings. So they should be deleted anyway.
I don't know how eclean's previous behavior was but recent versions of eclean will remove such files. So I tend to FIXED in this case because I assume it has been fixed during recent releases of gentoolkit. Feel free to re-open if you still encounter issues there.
