Please revision bump media-libs/glut to remove the PROVIDE file from /var/db/pkg to make Portage use the new style virtual/glut.

Same applies to freeglut.

What's the point? Who cares whether it's using a new-style virtual or old?

Well does not matter if you don't need to use any of the features of the new style virtuals provide like versioning and if glut/freeglut will always provide the virtual. Just might hit problems if you decide to do so in the future and do not remember this to bump them before you do.

OK, just saw your post to -dev. As they aren't using versioning now, I'll close this as later just in case. (BTW, no clue why games team supposedly became the maintainer of glut)

Closing WONTFIX since we're trying to get rid of the original glut to only keep freeglut (what all other distros ship nowadays).
