ant's ebuild initializes JAVA_HOME from JDK_HOME, which is not defined by the 
JDK package (I use sun-jdk). This causes ant's merge to fail.

after I unmerge the blackdown jre and jdk, and remerge the sun-jdk, the 
environment variables are set correctly in /etc/profile.env




I suspect blackdown was 'locking' the variables

After installing the jdk, did you set the jdk you wanted to use ?

did you made env-update, and logged in again ?

i tried to reproduce it on 5 different machines, and i was unable, can you give some more information ?

I am unable to reproduce.  Suggest we close this WORKSFORME unless Sander can feed us 
some more details and a method to reproduce.
