get the latest gentoo-sources, make clean, and make prepare them, try again.

I have not had block of time large enough where I could be w/o this machine if your suggestion failed.  However, by this time nvidia has released driver 1.0.8774 (see below).  W/O emerging gentoo sources I emerged the nvidia driver & checked nvidia framebuffer support (graphics support) & recompiled my existing kernel.  Voila! No problems, rebooted and my twinheaded system came up w/o a problem!

Also I found that Qtruby bindings depend on nvidia driver (suprizing, I thought that it would be abstracted away from the video driver)  all my ruby apps that require QT failed.

Just re-emerge qtruby
