Description Markus Herhoffer 2006-08-08 09:57:24 UTC
I've gone through all the dbus stuff. Dbus is running, the varibale is properly set with
  export DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS="unix:path=/var/run/dbus/system_bus_socket"

But I still get:

  $ dbus-launch beep-media-player-2
  Process /usr/libexec/beep-media-player-2-bin received signal 11

-------------------

$ echo $DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS
unix:path=/var/run/dbus/system_bus_socket

$ emerge --info

You may need to start your dbus session, a lot of window managers don't do this automatically.

see here some more info:
http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=138101#c7

Try starting the session manually, if it doesn't fix the problem, then reopen this bug, and let us know what desktop you are using (window manager, etc).
