The machine is a mirror to some other sites too, so changing it to ftp://gentoo.tiscali.nl is a bit of a problem. Adding rsync support shouldn't be a problem, I will add this within a few day, and report it here when it's running.

It is synced at :04 and :34 of every hour. Just checked if it synced correctly at 22:04 (CEST), and it did. So I have no idea why it was 1 hour behind. I will monitor the rsync process the next few days, and hopefully discover what's wrong if it happens again.
Never mind my last comment ;) The problem was that I had gentoo-x86-portage as a separate directory, which wasn't synced correctly. Now it just goes to the normal gentoo-portage.

The hard ware of the server has been upgraded, the server is now a dual Xeon 2.8 However, it seems the cron daemon wasn't running for some reason. This has been corrected, and the server should be up to date soon. (There might be some delay to sync all mirrors this machine is running.)

The new system is running for a few weeks new, and it seems there aren't any problems anymore. Could you check if the syncing looks ok?
