By default, openoffice-bin-2.0.3 needs a symlink from /usr/lib/openoffice/ to /opt/OpenOffice.org/ but doesn't create one. This causes all sorts of harmless but irritating error dialogs when it cannot find scripts where it expects them.
What kind of problems? It doesn't install anything into /opt and I've never seen any problem w/ that. There's nothing to symlink there. # equery f openoffice-bin | grep /opt/ #
It expects the contents of /usr/lib/openoffice/ to be at /opt/OpenOffice.org/ and throws up error dialogs otherwise.
