Description Andrej Kacian (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-08-01 13:53:39 UTC
Looks like as it is, 2.6.x and 2.4.x cannot coexist together:

* checking 663 files for package collisions
existing file /usr/share/aclocal/wxwin.m4 is not owned by this package
* spent 0.235134840012 seconds checking for file collisions
* This package is blocked because it wants to overwrite
* files belonging to other packages (see messages above).
* If you have no clue what this is all about report it
* as a bug for this package on http://bugs.gentoo.org

package x11-libs/wxGTK-2.6.2-r1 NOT merged

Bug 153279 also notes collisions for all the translations and wx-config. Also missing SONAMEs for 2.4, but I _think_ those are fixed in 2.6 upstream.
For translations need to look into patching upstream in 2.8's time, for wx-config and wxwin.m4 will need to think of another solution. eselect or something from that line.

Comment 5 Ryan Hill (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-10-14 02:50:39 UTC
this was fixed with the removal of wxGTK-2.4. future SLOTs have also been fixed.
