Previously exposed internal API got removed from Freetype, starting from 2.2 . A few applications that incorrectly use this API need to be adapted. http://freetype.org/freetype2/freetype-2.2.0.html contains an more elaborate explanation of this problem, a list of applications known to fail with 2.2 and a patches to solve most of those problems.

This tracker is a gathering point for all bugs related to this.

I wonder why you have not fixed bug 140359 yet - if it is time constraints I can join the fonts herd and help you. It is the only bug holding back the unmasking of this.

Seeing that this is fixing real bugs I would like to have it stable soon, too. Probably turn this into a stabilization tracker when unmasking it.
