Description Tharrrk 2006-07-31 05:59:03 UTC
Seems like some small bug in ebuild ?
While upgrading from version 5.8.7-r3 to 5.8.8-r2:

...
make[2]: Entering directory `/var/tmp/portage/perl-5.8.8-r2/work/perl-5.8.8/x2p'
echo Makefile.SH cflags.SH | tr ' ' '\n' >.shlist
make[2]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/perl-5.8.8-r2/work/perl-5.8.8/x2p'
Updating makefile...
make[1]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/perl-5.8.8-r2/work/perl-5.8.8/x2p'
Now you must run 'make'.

If you compile perl5 on a different machine or from a different object
directory, copy the Policy.sh file from this object directory to the
new one before you run Configure -- this will help you with most of
the policy defaults.

make: *** No rule to make target `<command-line>', needed by `miniperlmain.o'. Stop.

Erm, reopen if you can reproduce on a _supported_ system.
Comment 2 Tharrrk 2006-08-01 03:41:10 UTC
All problems solved.
Disappeared after installing eselect and upgrading binutils to 2.17.50.0.3

Thanks and sorry for troubling.
