Description nixnut (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-07-29 02:00:59 UTC
The network is not automagically configured and started on boot on my B&W.
I need to modprobe the bmac module first, then start /etc/init.d/net.eth0.
Not a big deal, the procedure is covered well in the Handbook, but if the network could be automagically set up that would make the cd even better.

That means, coldplug does not recognise your NIC and can't load the correct module.

Probably I should include the bmac driver statically into the kernel like the sungem driver.

driver included into the kernel, tested by nixnut, works :-)

wolf31o2: should I close that bug or leave it open for review?

Since these are all pre-release bugs, once you have it fixed in your pre-release materials, close this bad boy. =]
