The summary says it all, really. When I try to view items in /proc (e.g. /proc/cpuinfo), gedit will open the file but the actual contents of the file are not displayed at all. Nano and cat have no problems, however. This is a plane-jayne amd64 installation with a vanilla kernel (2.6.16.16). This has been happening since the GNOME 2.14.2 upgrade.
