In the Chapter 3 - Network Configuration, there is a section that
explains how to setup the adsl, using the adsl-setup. However, the
adsl-setup was substituted by pppoe-setup, and all others related to
adsl.

hi,

I don't see the problem here .. This manual is used for the installation. That package actually is included into the live-cd.

During the instalation you should install networking tools to have it installed before you boot into your installed system:

diox is right. don't confuse the liveCD script adsl-setup with the rp-pppoe package. the handbook is fine.
