Description David Young 2003-01-18 11:19:10 UTC
Hi!

This is an ebuild I've created, based heavily upon the original net-mail/qmail
ebuild. The original qmail ebuild simply applied the qmail-ldap patch if
USE="ldap", whereas this one REQUIRES LDAP, and is designed for an enterprise-
wide LDAP clustering qmail installation.

The ebuild will install qmail, as per normal, including the qmail-ldap patch,
the qmail-todo patch, the qmail-queue patch, and the dash-ext patch.

Thanks :)
David

I hope it's OK to attach a tarball, I wasn't able to determine from the
"Contributing Ebuilds" documentation how to attach multiple files, or whether I
could attach tarballs :)

I've taken the minutes to make another ebuild, one more up to date and one that supports qmail-ldap w/tls, it's in the ~x86 arch and if you want tls you can add the flag to your make.conf. I was going to use ssl to do this but knowing how everyone is, they'd probably get lost in the process and yell at me. The qmail-ldap creates a user, which hopefully the ldap user from the openldap ebuild and this one will join and become one. Qmail-ldap requires a UID of over 10000 for some reason and this works fine with the ldapauth user I've created. i've also left detailed instructions for someone to use this with. Maybe in the future I'll create some sample ldifs based off the system /etc/passwd... sounds kinda risky if you ask me. Let me know if you have any more requests for this ebuild
