Description Sven 2006-07-22 10:15:00 UTC
Iam allways anoyed with updates that include dev-java/sun-jdk because the download is not automated. Since other distros got a agreement to download the files from sun this should be possible with gentoo too.
I mean fetch restrictions are a good way to remind me about non-GPL software, but i know which software i use, and why, independent of that.

I thought, if downloads are possible there will still be the license agreement that needs interaction and stops my automated emerge world from going through.

The idea is to create a use-flag in the ebuild like "acceptsunjdklicenseagreement", if this is set everything should be fine with downloading and installing automatically. Or am i wrong?

kr, Sven

If you have a specific package that doesn't have to be fetch-restricted file a bug about that one (including the url where it can be downloaded), for automatic license handling see bug #17367.
