I've emerge libwww-perl version 5.64, however when I try to use it, it give the following error message Use of uninitialized value in pattern match (m//) at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0/LWP/Protocol.pm line 114. Use of uninitialized value in concatenation (.) or string at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0/LWP/Protocol.pm line 87. http://www.gentoo.org/index.html I have tried other versions and they all do the same. I am behind a proxy but I don't think that is the problem.

Can you give an example of the use/call line you are trying to invoke? Will just make it easier to track down the problem. Thanks, Michael
lwp-rget http://www.gentoo.org/index.html Athough any invocation of the GET method seems to return an error.
Please emerge sync and try the newer version of libwww-perl, 5.68. I ended up killing the process, but a snippet: memory image # lwp-rget http://www.gentoo.org/index.html index003.html index004.html gtop-s.jpeg gbot-s.gif about.html contract.html docs.html lists.html gridtest.gif line.gif 5032687-47.gif shots.html desktop-verwilst-small.jpeg desktop-hallski-small.jpeg desktop-drobbins-small.jpeg desktop-danarmak-small.jpeg desktop-g2boojum-small.jpeg desktop-gbevin-small.jpeg desktop-m0rpheus-small.jpeg desktop-mjc-small.png desktop-stroke-small.jpeg desktop-vijay-small.jpeg gwn.html where.html gentoo-x86-install.html gentoo-ppc-install.html gentoo-sparc-install.html index-cvs.html irc.html index005.html devlist.html graphics.html powered.jpeg powered-by-gentoo.jpeg powered-by-gentoo2.jpeg ralph_gentoo_badge.png gentoo640x480.jpeg gentoo-cycle-640x480.jpeg gentoo-ice-light2-640x480.jpeg gentoo-ice-640x480.jpeg projects.html articles.html faq.html faq001.html faq002.html faq003.html faq004.html faq005.html faq006.html build.html
Your getting the correct output from that program. I've emerged sync emerged the latest version, still the same problem, i've remerge perl and libwww-perl's dependancys. Still no luck
libwww-perl is now stopping me using my machine effectivly, Is it being resolved?
It seems to be a problem with my network, I have squid running as a proxy altohugh this is fine for other programs it isn't for libwww-perl.
sorry, seems like an libwww-perl bug, not a gentoo bug
