Description David Carlos Manuelda 2006-07-21 19:12:19 UTC
First, I disabled alsa from kernel, recompiled and rebooted. After, I emerged alsa-drivers, alsa-tools and rebooted again.

After a time, I decided to get back to in kernel alsa's drivers, and unmerged alsa-* packages, reenabled alsa in kernel, and rebooting, but now, coldplug complains in boot time (I have rc-update coldplug boot) in coldpluging pci devices that alsa modules are missing (it is obvious, I unmerged alsa-drivers).

Maybe a bug in some script after unmerging alsa-drivers nor alsa-tools?

Can't guess, post some errors...
Comment 2 David Carlos Manuelda 2006-07-21 20:08:07 UTC
Oh, sorry, this is the errors:

modprobe: WARNING: Error inserting snd_ac97_codec (/lib/modules/2.6.16-gentoo-r13/alsa-driver/pci/ac97/snd-ac97-codec.ko): Unknown symbol in module, or unknown parameter (see dmesg)

And other erros similar but changing module name.

I didn't get this error before testing alsa-drivers. Note: sound is working correctly despite this errors.
