The very bottom link of the desktop: Gentoo Linux Installer (Command Line) launches the GTK+ installer. Launcher tab in properties shows that the command is: "installer dialog". I am therefore not sure if this belong in the component that I have placed it in. This way there is no way to reach the command line from gnome, which is very annoying if one wishes to run a few commands on the commandline. Also, as far as I remeber launching that also launches the command line install. I'd like to request a link to a plain terminal, but this is not really related to this bug.
Forgot some info: eb8b2065d97105e52e6fa8af3cd82170 livecd-i686-installer-2006.1.iso When the icon is clicked, a terminal does show up, but then reverts to the Gtk+ installer.
you find the "gnome-terminal" at "applications - accesoires - terminal (or console)"
Thanks. I'm currently working on the scripts for the installer to make them function better. Right now, the "installer dialog" tries to launch the dialog installer, then falls back to the GTK+ one if it fails, which it shouldn't be doing. What I'm curious about is why the icon doesn't work for you. It works perfectly for me. Also, what output do you get if you run "installer dialog" from a standard terminal?
There are two lines of output: access control disabled, clients can connect from any host access control disabled, clients can connect from any host
This was fixed in later versions of the CD.
