Try the masked tetex-20030112 ebuild and see if that compiles.
indeed it compiles with masked ebuild [/usr/portage/app-text/tetex/tetex-20030112.ebuild] i still have a problem because doing emerge -pu world try to replace my tetex-20030112 by tetex-1.0.7-r11 [ebuild UD] app-text/tetex-1.0.7-r11 [20030112] i know that it is a really different issue and i should find a solution in docs or forums. (=app-text/tetex-20030112 in world file is not working, still looking for a solution ;) )
use PORTAGE_OVERLAY and place only this package in there emerge sync never touches any file there
Did you come to a satisfying conclusion? Soon enough teTeX-2.0 will be released, and this will all be taken care of...
Try tetex-2.0, just released.
Reopen if this is still a problem, as I think this is all taken care of with tetex-2.0.
