Also, the maintainer bumped without changing the arch keywords to ~arch.

I fixed the keywording issue.
Comment 4 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-07-18 19:23:48 UTC
Not a mirrors problem, mirrors can't catch it if you don't make the tarball available first. :P
Comment 5 José Alberto Suárez López (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-07-19 00:53:43 UTC
mmm strange i'm sure that i uploaded it to the mirror, so sorry i uploaded it again :)
aout arch... i don't forget it just the change is not a major change so dont need to mask again.

Yes, you did forget, twice. Cf [1]:

"Note that most (non-x86) archs expect you to be on the arch team and
bugzilla alias if you are committing packages with keywords for that
arch, and may have additional requirements of which you should be
   aware [...]

"Do *not* commit straight to arch."

Please, never ever do a version bump straight to arch ever again. This is what stabilization bugs are for, where you ask arch devs to keyword specific versions, regardless of whether you think the upgrade is safe.

I'll end my pedantic rant mode after this:

The proper, non-portage-breaking way of commiting a version bumped ebuild which requires new sources to be up on the mirrors, is to first upload the sources to dev.g.o, then *wait* until they have propagated to the mirrors (which takes around 4 hours according to [1]) and only *then* commit the ebuild to CVS.

Kind regards,
     JeR
