Description David Grant 2006-07-17 20:38:59 UTC
This particular laptop I am using has only 5GB of hard drive space. I would like to not have to install gentoo-sources, but instead just have suspend2-sources. But something always wants to pull in gentoo-sources. In this case, it is alsa-lib that wants gentoo-sources. I always compile everything with suspend2-sources sources anyways. ie. my /usr/src/linux symlink always points to /usr/src/suspend2*. Essentially gentoo-sources are always downloaded even though they aren't used. Masking doesn't help. Shouldn't things tha tneed the kernel depend on a virtual or something?

emerge --info, please.
Comment 2 David Grant 2006-07-18 09:38:23 UTC
Works now after I removed the already installed gentoo-sources. After doing that, I am not asked to install any gentoo-sources. Doing this before never worked, so it must be something that was fixed in portage-2.1 because I recently upgraded to portage-2.1. Thanks portage devs.
