seems like hal-fbsd depends also on dev-libs/dbus-glib as on policykit maybe they should be put in DEPEND in the ebuild?

FreeBSD support is being worked on and is being merged into HAL proper by FreeBSD devs. It's not a seperate project. It's not a different package. This is a no go. Especially since PolicyKit isn't even finalized or remotely close to be consumed. It's a CVS only product. Johan: dbus-glib is a MASKED product. So it's entirely besides the point to have it dep on it currently.
ok. I've been fooling around though and FreeBSD support is far from done. I've gotten the configure to work, but compiling isn't going to work. Too much work needs to be done yet. We'll just have to wait or help the devs. Cardoe: Sorry, I'm pretty new to all the ebuild stuff. Best I'll leave it alone ;) (fo now)
Tim: Turns out you're a bit more responsible for this stuff then I originally though. (side note.. you seem familiar from somewhere else) Like I've told Flameeyes in the past... Give me the tools to support you guys and I happily will. I've wanted to install Gentoo/FreeBSD but have never been successful. Last time I tried Flameeyes told me to use FreeBSIE but it resulted in some segfaults. Turns out I was using the stable images, didn't know I had to use the testing images. (Who would think "stable" would segfault and testing would not.) Right now trying to download the images from FreeBSIE gives me torrents that aren't seeded and have no peers. So I can't download it. I'd love to install Gentoo/FreeBSD and support this work....
Doug, I pulled you out of the CC and added Gentopia, since you are on that alias, no point in getting multiple mails.
Thx Steev
Please re-try this with the very latest committed HAL 0.5.9 ebuild.
Re: topic of the bug.... Yes it does! Starting with hal-0.5.9. Thanks for your patience with this guys. :)
