Hi there here's a new ebuild I wrote (my first one) to the live-f1 app, that allows you to see the formula1.com live timming without the java client.. It is my first ebuild so commentaries are welcome :)

Created attachment 91933 [details] ../luser/sunrise/app-misc/live-f1/live-f1-0.2.6.ebuild someone told me to use "emake" instead of "make" in src_install
I was going to write an ebuild for this package, but then I searched Bugzilla and found this bug. I noticed your ebuild has "GPL-1" as the license. The COPYING file is GPL version 2 so I think the ebuild should have "GPL-2" as the license.
hi :) you can take the ebuild and mantain it, since I'm not using gentoo anymore on my machines :) have fun!
Created attachment 97191 [details] live-f1-0.2.6 ebuild Updated ebuild. Changed the license to GPL-2. Slightly reworded the description. Changed the src_uri to a bz2 archive instead of a gz. Updated the dependencies to match my stable versions. Removed ABOUT_NLS from dodoc. Any developers wishing to test this ebuild, go to the official Formula 1 web site at http://www.formula1.com/. A local time converter is available to give you the correct time of the Grand Prix in your locale. There are 3 remaining Grand Prix for the 2006 season. On the 1st, 8th and 22nd of October. Just start live-f1 during the correct time.

(this is an automated message based on filtering criteria that matched this bug) 'EBUILD' is in the KEYWORDS which should mean that there is a ebuild attached to this bug. This bug is assigned to maintainer-wanted which means that it is not in the main tree. Heuristics show that no Gentoo developer has commented on your ebuild. Hello, The Gentoo Team would like to firstly thank you for your ebuild submission. We also apologize for not being able to accommodate you in a timely manner. There are simply too many new packages. Allow me to use this opportunity to introduce you to Gentoo Sunrise. The sunrise overlay[1] is a overlay for Gentoo which we allow trusted users to commit to and all users can have ebuilds reviewed by Gentoo devs for entry into the overlay. So, the sunrise team is suggesting that you look into this and submit your ebuild to the overlay where even *you* can commit to. =) Because this is a mass message, we are also asking you to be patient with us. We anticipate a large number of requests in a short time. Thanks, On behalf of the Gentoo Sunrise Team, Jeremy. (In reply to comment #9) > Created an attachment (id=191855) [details] > live-f1-0.2.8 ebuild > Until upstream fixes http.c according to new Formula1 site (see Debian GNU/Linux bug #573733), we could add something like: src_unpack() { unpack ${A} cd "${S}" sed -i 's/login.asp/login/g' src/http.c || die "Sed failed!" }

(In reply to comment #10) I found the same fix in the live-f1 launchpad tracker. I didn't want to provide an updated ebuild at first since there was supposed to be a new release to fix this. It's nice to know there is someone else using this great app :)

From the beginning of the 2014 season, the live timing feed was modified in such a way that made live-f1 useless. The project has now also received a take down notice[1] from Formula One Management. "Unfortunately, we have received a removal request from Formula One Management, claiming that this project allegedly infringes on their intellectual property rights. Whilst this is disappointing, it is not unexpected, and I am actually amazed that this has not happened sooner. As such, Canonical are due to the remove the project from the Launchpad website shortly." Based on these circumstances, this bug should be closed. [1] https://launchpad.net/live-f1/+announcement/12678
