In a flash of inspiration ;) (or could it be that this has been touched upon
before?) after tripping over an install or three (see bug 14029), I felt that
the portage tree could easily be included in the grp install cds.

That way, if a user has no network, he can still get an install done!

How about it?

Well, on our new cds no portage tree will even be needed to install from GRP.
I'm renaming this bug to "support non-network installs" and leaving it open.

This hasn't much value any more now that GRP installs are well documented and common.

It's probably better to close this marking it as fixed, for want of a more accurate description.
