Want's to request, that vxl_libraries found at vxl.sourceforge.net shall be included in portage tree. Some informations: - Very powerful image and video processing library - cmake build (perhaps this is not so good ???) Would be nice to find it in portage in the near future.
Created attachment 91832 [details] vxl-1.5.1.ebuild I test it only without doc. Compile very long time. I don't like Cmake ;)
I also don't like cmake (who needs another OS than Linux :-) Try this little tutorial, helped me to get it working. http://www.eecs.berkeley.edu/~eklund/teaching/cs294/Tutorials/TutorialVxlRPI11.pdf It's a pity, that there is not described, how to use the lib with native Makefile. But it's simple if you got it. For using the library, you happily don't need cmake anymore, just for building it itself. Thanks for posting the ebuild... ;-)
Created attachment 92984 [details] vxl-1.5.1-r1.ebuild After kicking around with the native cmake-build for my own cpp-program, I gave the ebuild a try... Nice to watch it compiling... Takes really a great amount of time... But there need to be some use flags inserted. (done this for the two I needed but really dirty hacked. Think there is a much better way to implement this. Feel free to correct this)
Created attachment 95234 [details] vxl-1.5.1.ebuild OK, another one, now with hopefully all available vxl-options (use-flags) and also hopefully correctly scripted :-)
Have some problems, that libvnl.so contains no symbols-table in the emerge-version of vxl. My solf-compiled does. What's the point to get this working? vnl is the core_numeric package of vxl.
(this is an automated message based on filtering criteria that matched this bug) 'EBUILD' is in the KEYWORDS which should mean that there is a ebuild attached to this bug. This bug is assigned to maintainer-wanted which means that it is not in the main tree. Heuristics show that no Gentoo developer has commented on your ebuild. Hello, The Gentoo Team would like to firstly thank you for your ebuild submission. We also apologize for not being able to accommodate you in a timely manner. There are simply too many new packages. Allow me to use this opportunity to introduce you to Gentoo Sunrise. The sunrise overlay[1] is a overlay for Gentoo which we allow trusted users to commit to and all users can have ebuilds reviewed by Gentoo devs for entry into the overlay. So, the sunrise team is suggesting that you look into this and submit your ebuild to the overlay where even *you* can commit to. =) Because this is a mass message, we are also asking you to be patient with us. We anticipate a large number of requests in a short time. Thanks, On behalf of the Gentoo Sunrise Team, Jeremy.
