Description miste78 2006-07-12 10:07:03 UTC
k9copy crashes when the (internal) burning-function should start.
The authoring (ripping end re-encoding) works. When the authoring process is done and the burn-process should start, the programm crashes!
The filesystem on the partition the files are stored is fat32. The partition is mounted at boot via fstab:

/dev/hda13 /mnt/daten vfat auto,uid=1000,gid=100,umask=077 0 0

this is the output of XTerm:

KCrash: Application 'k9copy' crashing...
KCrash cannot reach kdeinit, launching directly.

If I use an ext3 partition instead of the fat32 the programm don't crash but an error window open (before a request for a DVD R) with this content

An error occured while Burning DVD: :-[ LOAD TRAY failed with
SK=sh/ASC=24h/ACQ=00h]: Input/Output error
Insert other DVD

after I put a DVD-R in the drive and klick ok, a new window with this message opens

An error occured while Burnig DVD

Xterm shows nothing
I tried it as user and also as root...

burning with k3b works fine.

I re-emerged kdelibs-3.5.2-r6 and k9copy-1.0.4 but it still crashes :-(

> burning with k3b works fine.

I mean if I choose "burn with k3b" in k9copy k3b opens when the authoring has finished and I can burn the DVD.
Comment 2 Matteo Azzali (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-02-13 11:16:34 UTC
Please check if this issue is still present with k9copy-1.1.0
(warning there are new dependancies....).
Comment 3 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-03-15 23:31:17 UTC
Get back to us...
Comment 4 miste78 2007-03-16 00:18:48 UTC
I switched to Arch-Linux a few months ago and deleted my gentoo installation.
So I can't test the new version...
Comment 5 miste78 2007-03-21 23:07:40 UTC
I restored my Gentoo-Backup today, ran emerge --sync && emerge -avuDN world and installed the hardmasked version-1.1.0

no problems!

tested with 3 different DVDs and k9copy-temp folder on ext3 and FAT32.

So I think it's fixed with version-1.1.0
