is there a chance of glide-v3 being made available for amd64? i have an old voodoo1 3dfx card that i'd like to use. # emerge media-libs/glide-v3 Calculating dependencies !!! All ebuilds that could satisfy "media-libs/glide-v3" have been masked. !!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request: - media-libs/glide-v3-20060203 (masked by: missing keyword) - media-libs/glide-v3-3.10-r4 (masked by: missing keyword)
Then please test first whether is works.
ok. this may come as a shock to you, but "Then please test first whether is works" is not very helpful to me. please elaborate. test whether what works? i don't see an explanation for the "test-request" resolution in the bugzilla help page: http://bugs.gentoo.org/page.cgi?id=fields.html#resolution are you asking me to test whether the card works? it does; i have it installed in my PC, and it is detected by the kernel (it is an old monster voodoo pass-through PCI 3dfx card. don't laugh...). are you asking me to test whether glide works? as i said, i can't install it because of a missing keyword. after some googling, it looks like this is the procedure i would have to follow: http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-2132031.html do you know of a better document? is it too much to ask for you to point me to it? i really want to help, but i have literally no idea how to.
echo "media-libs/glide-v3 x86" >> /etc/portage/package.keywords emerge glide-v3
