When I tried to do an "emerge -e glibc", portage kept on running forever. Okay, so what happened? It seems as if portage after being updated by the emerge command, starts the whole emerge -e glibc again. So in fact this command never finishes. Here's the output of emerge -V: Portage 2.0.46-r7 (default-x86-1.4, gcc-3.2.1, glibc-2.3.1-r2) It's quite interesting, that emerge -V tells me that I've installed -r7 although I updated to portage 2.0.46-r8 just before I ran the emerge -e glibc command.
