Under amarok 1.4.1, whenever I try to write new information, such as assign a track number taglib-1.4-r1 crashes.

Reverted to taglib-1.4 and everything was ok.

Please try to get a backtrace using http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/qa/backtraces.xml .
Also can you tell me which kind of files are you trying to write to? the only change between the two versions is a dirty pointer on the flac class that removes a crash and cannot inject one.
