Description Steve Flack 2002-03-29 12:12:24 UTC
Hi,

The current gPhoto ebuild emerges gPhoto2 which no longer seems to have a GUI.
Whilst the new package is more powerful it isn't not as easy to use. It also
gives an app called gphoto2 not gphoto. Can we have both the version 0.4.3 (GUI
version) and version 2. This could achieved by giving the old 0.4.3 ebuild a new
name (like gphoto-gui) or renaming the new ebuild gphoto2 (which coincides with
the name of the executable you obtain. Users then would have a choice.

emerge gphoto - gives the executable gphoto which has a GUI (v 0.4.3)
emerge gphoto2 - gives the new CLI version (version 2).

I'm not sure if the gphoto-0.4.3-r1.ebuild is still in the current portage tree
but I still have it in mine.

moved the gphoto2 into its own, retained gphoto 0.4.3-r1, masked gphoto-2.0.0
