I have seen in the changelog that the maintainer has to do more important things than searching for new versions of vym. That's why I'm telling you that. Thx for the good work... and keep it going ;-)
Well, I don't know how to write ebuilds, but I'm able to install it as following: download from sourceforge (vym-1.8.0-tar.gz) /usr/qt/3/bin/qmake (qmake in path is from qt4 => no success, which was the reason why I asked for the ebuild) make make install Hope this helps. Cheers, Roli
