Description Lance Albertson (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-07-03 17:59:32 UTC
All-

Dan Lang just recently started working as a UNIX admin where I work at K-State. He used to be in charge of a lot of the activities with SevenL in Toronto, Canada (which hosts a few of our machines). He has several years of experience admin'ing gentoo and other various Linux boxen. He's asked me several times about joining Gentoo but I've never really had the time to properly mentor him. Now that he's nearby, that won't be hard :).

I plan on being his mentor and I think he only wants to complete the staff quiz for now. I'd like to get this bug moving this week if possible. I'll let you know when he's completed his quiz.

Thanks-

Friendly ping bump to the recruiters :)

If you two are still good friends, then Lance: tell him about Gentoo; tell him everything you know and even things you don't know (yet).

Then, have him mail recruiters@gentoo.org with his (not yours :) answers to the questions at http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/devrel/quiz/staff-quiz.txt

Also, tell me if I can add him in when his quiz is good, or do I have to wait until your team has accepted him (for instance because there is internal training or another quiz you guys take care of)?

Uhm, check your mail from a few days after this bug was created. I already looked over his quiz and he sent it to you and me as a cc. :)

Go ahead and add him, just let me make the announcement please. :)

Thanks!

Can you rebounce it to me? I probably don't have it anymore as I remove all recruitment-related mails of which I don't believe they are mine to read.

Daniel

If you find the time, do search for my last mail titled "Re: [Fwd: Bugzilla Bug 139106 - Quiz and answers]", sent on Wednesday August 23rd.

I know we've lost SwifT lately to retirement, but this was due a while ago. Friendly bump to see if there's any movement, where we at folks?

If someone could send/forward me his quiz, I'll look into it.

Once Lance or Dang find some time to send the quiz (again), feel free to reopen this bug.
