What driver is used by your AMD card? What module works for you? And can you
modprobe this module and get your network card to work?

I am using Gentoo1.4RC2 in VMWare.
The virtual netcard uses PCNET32.o net drivers
The boot message of gentoo can find the VMWare's virual SCSI driver, but it can
not find the virtual scsi disk.
There are only three files in the directory of /lib/modules/2.4.20-xfs-pre2/net:
8390.o p80211.o prism2_pci.o.
I have successful runing Debian, Trustix and UT2003 Gentoo LiveCD.

I have find the problem. Part of them is because I am not so familiar with the
new install style of gentoo.
I found all the programs in /mnt/cloop.
But according to the install manual on www.gentoo.org, there should be a path
enviroment point to the programs directory in /mnt/cloop.

works
Comment 5 Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-03-25 11:24:55 UTC
Moving these so we can remove the "Install CD" component from "Gentoo Linux".

I apologize to everyone for this spam, but according to the bugzilla developers,
this is the only reasonable way to do this.
