Description Diego Elio Pettenò (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-07-03 16:23:16 UTC
As per summary, please test and mark stable Amarok 1.4.0a-r1, as the current stable is outdated and unsupported by upstream.

Note that the -r1 was added recently, but the only patch added in that is to fix strict-aliasing and it's otherwise the much more tested 1.4.0a version.

Thank you for using Gentoo >_>
(stable bugs are boring)
Comment 1 Ryan Hill (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-07-03 21:21:13 UTC
builds fine and no problems so far on x86.

Comment 2 Jon Hood (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-07-03 22:55:25 UTC
Also seems stable on amd64; however, until I can be sure the dependencies are stable, there is a blocker on making amarok stable for amd64.
Comment 3 Diego Elio Pettenò (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-07-04 02:27:14 UTC
Hm. I can always remove the exscalibar support altogether, upstream removed it from 1.4.1 anyway.
Comment 4 Gustavo Zacarias (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-07-04 11:00:50 UTC
sparc stable.
Comment 5 Markus Rothe (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-07-04 11:22:59 UTC
stable on ppc64
Comment 6 Joshua Jackson (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-07-04 18:06:33 UTC
libifp is another for x86 that would need to go stable as well as exscalibar. The latter is up to you to decide if you want to follow upstream on this earlier version.
Comment 7 Denny Reeh 2006-07-05 13:42:25 UTC
- compiles with no errors for me
- plays mp3
-> say its crashed with function "Dieses Album brennen" (burn album)
but the k3b opens correctly

output from terminal:
DCOP aborting call from 'anonymous-12268' to 'knotify'
ERROR: Communication problem with knotify, it probably crashed.
KCrash: Application 'knotify' crashing...

knotify error message:

Comment 8 Diego Elio Pettenò (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-07-05 13:54:30 UTC
knotify is arts, likely not related to amarok directly.
Comment 9 Aaron Peterson 2006-07-07 13:36:48 UTC
depends on 139055?
Comment 10 Diego Elio Pettenò (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-07-07 13:44:42 UTC
I would say no, as they are for two distinct versions.
Comment 11 Wormo (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-07-08 15:50:10 UTC
stable on ppc

BTW repoman was complaining about some x86-fbsd deps, and I just synced today.. maybe you could take a look at it flameeyes?
Comment 12 Joshua Jackson (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-07-18 10:53:18 UTC
pooooof x86 is gone.
Comment 13 Michael Weyershäuser 2006-08-07 11:40:31 UTC
Well, the dependency on exscalibar is still there and that still isn't stable. Other than that I'll stick to what I told you several weeks ago when I first tested it, Flameeyes:

Working fine here on amd64 :)
