As requested, attached is the build log of libsdl-1.2.11 on mips. Still not sure if this is tied to the xinerama USE flag or not, though.

There's nothing conditional about the installation of XShm.h, I suspect this is the mysterious disappearing files again. If you remerge xextproto, do you get it? Also, have you ever upgraded to modular, downgraded to monolith, and re-upgraded?
Nope; this is being seen exclusively in catalyst builds. I'm using a snapshot from 20060629, though, just a day or two before Xorg-7.1 went stable. I'll be testing wolf's latest 2006.1 snapshot soon, though, and once I regnerate all my stages, I'll do some more thorough investigating to see what's going on with this package and libsdl.
