With the latest kernel 2.6.17 the pcspkr stopped working my my AMD64 computer. It behaves like the driver isn't fully registering. I've tested on two mainboards with the same result of no beeps coming from the internel speaker. The driver is loaded, but doesn't seem to work anymore.
