Description Klaus-J. Wolf 2003-01-13 18:45:41 UTC
Since gcc-2.95 doesn't work with gcc-3 frontend, it appears to be necessary to
install a gcc-2.95 separately, if you want to use it.

You might want to use gcc-2 it because there are still programs that won't work
or won't compile with the new gcc.

Patch to make --program-suffix work

I recollected the patches for gcc-2.?? and adapted them a little bit, not
knowingly if somebody did that before already.
I only applied the patches necessary for C and C++.

Reminder: gcc-2.95.3's configure has non-working options --program-suffix and
--program-prefix

This is why we have 2.95.3-r8 and 3.2.1-r6. They can install alongside each
other.
