Since gcc-2.95 doesn't work with gcc-3 frontend, it appears to be necessary to install a gcc-2.95 separately, if you want to use it. You might want to use gcc-2 it because there are still programs that won't work or won't compile with the new gcc.
Created attachment 7282 [details, diff] Patch to make --program-suffix work I recollected the patches for gcc-2.?? and adapted them a little bit, not knowingly if somebody did that before already. I only applied the patches necessary for C and C++. Reminder: gcc-2.95.3's configure has non-working options --program-suffix and --program-prefix
This is why we have 2.95.3-r8 and 3.2.1-r6. They can install alongside each other.
