xgamma is a tool to alter gamma correction of display. It was part of monolithic Xorg, so I think it should go stable with modular Xorg.
It's a nice command line too to adjust gamma, and can be used with windowmanagers that doesn't have their own tools like desktop environments (kde, gnome, xfce4). I can verify it works in stable x86.
