- x11-misc/driconf doesn't start without x11-apps/xdriinfo , complains about missing command. And I'm requesting both to be stable on x86 after RDEPEND have been added. They are essential part of Modular X to configure DRI. I've tested them on Stable x86 system. xdriinfo runs, and I can create my ~/.drirc with driconf as expected. Note, x11-misc/driconf-0.2.7 - drac
Actually there is now in DEPEND || ( x11-apps/xdriinfo virtual/x11 ) Shouldn't it be in RDEPEND and || ( ( x11-apps/xdriinfo ) virtual/x11 )
(In reply to comment #1) > Actually there is now in DEPEND ... > Shouldn't it be in RDEPEND and By default, RDEPEND = DEPEND[1], and those extra brackets do nothing in this case (they're only used when multiple modular packages are needed). Do you have virtual/x11 installed?
> By default, RDEPEND = DEPEND[1], and those extra brackets do nothing in this > case (they're only used when multiple modular packages are needed). Do you > have virtual/x11 installed? virtual/x11-7.0-r2 is installed and if I emerge -C it, emerge -av driconf wants to install xdriinfo. Right, in http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/desktop/x/x11/modular-x-howto.xml it says to emerge -C virtual/x11. -- cut -- I see Code Listing 2.2: Unmerging the monolitic installation # emerge -Ca xorg-x11 virtual/x11 -- cut-- So, apparently virtual/x11 can't be installed even if it's version is 7.0 to get dependencies?
(In reply to comment #3) > So, apparently virtual/x11 can't be installed even if it's version is 7.0 to > get dependencies? > virtual/x11-7* is a hack used for packages that don't have modular dependencies yet. xdriinfo should probably be added, but it needs some testing keywords first, then stabilization. Donnie, I know 0.9 is baddage, but is there any reason not to stabilize driconf-0.2.7?

I hope I was only one reporting about it for nothing so you guys don't have to deal with all that fuzz. And is there any reason why not stabilize xdriinfo with it for x86 as it allready had ~x86? There is now KEYWORDS="~amd64 ~ppc ~ppc64 ~x86" and I'm not sure if DRI works for a lot of other arches. On ~x86-fbsd it might, as there is DRI for FreeBSD.
Looks like virtual/x11 should pull in xdriinfo.
Stable on x86.
